Steve Malkin. Born in Brooklyn, Steve Malkin was profoundly affected by his once-orthodox Russian immigrant father’s experience living through the Russian revolution. Mr. Malkin is a poet, writer, and master carpenter living and working from his guest ranch in Oracle, Arizona. He has performed his poetry in Leningrad; Paris; Cuernavaca Mexico; and cities across the American Southwest. His ranch, The Historic C.O.D., plays host to visiting writers and guests looking to use the grounds as a creative retreat.

Tina Huerta. Published poet, Tina, a.k.a Sureal, has awards and honors in both poetry and playwriting. A Media Arts graduate of the University of Arizona, she is primarily an award-winning filmmaker as a Working and Creative Producer, UPM / AD, Script Analyst, and Non-linear Editor, and freakishly good Tarot Reader. “I spent a year solely supporting myself as an art model. It afforded me the luxury of listening to art lectures while simultaneously writing poetry and hopefully inspiring visual artists. We are multifaceted fellows.

Practical Lessons for the 21st Century Musician

Nervous Duane Norman attended Boston’s Berklee College of Music. He went on to play through Europe with Danny Fitzgerald and the Lost and Wandering Jazz & Blues Band based in Paris. His cult credentials include playing with music legends The Host and The Black Sun Ensemble out of Tucson, Arizona. He has also played with Augie Jr and The Big Mess Blues Band in New Orleans. In Montréal, Quebec he contributed to Bran Van 3000’s debut recording, Glee. He has performed The Festival Coup de Couer with Benoit Leblanc and The Festival Theatré de La Rue Djing for Flam Chen. Nervous Duane has led the incarnations of his own band, The Nervous Duane Orkastra, from Tucson, Seattle, and Montreal, through to New Orleans.
